The college is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education.
The college offers Bachelor of Engineering (BE) and Bachelor of Technology (BTech) courses in Computer Science and Engineering, Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Civil Engineering under affiliation to Gauhati University, the first university of North East India and Assam State Technical University.

Mirza is an emerging township on the National Highway 37,located 28 kilometres from the city centre of Guwahati and 6 kilometres from the Lokapriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport, Guwahati. Nestled amidst green surroundings, NITS Mirza is on a 20 acre campus.
